

Hand sewn vintage silk necklace with ginkgo leaves

This is a lovely necklace hand sewn of vintage Japanese kimono silk by Sonoma artist Susan Litschiz. The necklace has two thick bands of fabric that meet at a magnetic clasp.The front has a folded over drop that is made of fabric, gold plated ginkgo leaf and glass bead strands.
Helen has a wonderful sense of color and texture. She is shown in juried art shows and several galleries in Hawaii.
Each piece she makes is a unique on of a kind treasure. She is also a noted writer who has documented her work as therapy for Parkinson’s Disease. She was diagnosed in 2002 and uses the delicate stitches as a tool to keep her hands busy and controlled. Please visit another of her beautiful pieces in Textiles #12792. It is a handmade purse.
