Art Nouveau jewelry casket Item# 10433

Circa 1900

9 1/2" long 3" high and 3 1/4" wide

This is an Art Nouveau period jewelry casket. I bought it in France with the intention of silver plating it and giving it a velvet lining. Since I never got around to it, it is now for sale AS IS.

The box has a basket weave metal body with fancy curled handles. The decoration which forms the feet and trim is acantha vines and leaves. The brass has darkened with age and the lid could use a dab of glue.

Restored it could be a treasure. Unrestored it has been used for decorative wrapped soaps in my store.
