Ornate hand painted and carved Chinese decorative box

This is a fine handmade decorative box. Carved, painted and assembled in China.

Superb scenic paintings are on all four sides reflect the late 18th century countryside. The wide roofline has upturned corners painted in gold with each shingle highlighted.

There are also decorative golden trims and open carved work. The lid lifts to expose a finished wood interior. There is one hinge.

This is a superior high quality handmade piece of artistic merit in useable form.
