This is a unique handmade chess set by New York artist Charles Wendell. The board is dark brown and white alabaster that was hand carved in Italy.
The individual chess pieces are made of pewter, copper and silver. They represent the ages old battle between the Muslims and the Christians. The pieces are heavy and original in every way. There is patination and the set is in original condition. The pieces have not been cleaned.
The set is in perfect condition. This set would make a timely and masterful gift.
If only the struggle of life was just a game. This is a museum quality set. To the best of my knowledge, it is a one of a kind.
