Georgian embossed bow pin-back necklace set with a garnet

This is a Georgian embossed bow pin made originally as a stomacher. During this time jewelry and fashion were closely related. A stomacher would have been worn in front of the bodice gown, which had a neckline that was a deep V that goes from the neckline to the stomach. The bow is embossed with scrolls and flowers and is made of 15K yellow gold. At the center is a comma-shaped, garnet, cabochon bezel set. The chain, which was added later, has elongated 14K gold links. We have retained the pin-back and the chain can be removed to wear it as a pin. The condition of all pieces is vintage excellent.
